ICT Timeline
This site is use as preparation location for the coming SMJK project launching in Penang in September 2007. The following is the Interview Series that we hope to conduct in the coming weeks, to trace the history of the development of the various ICT projects in the SMJK Schools, we hope to cover as many users as possible, from the past presidents, project leaders, end users and students, on how they look at the various projects.
Mr Hwong Seng, President 2004 – 2005
The following interview was conducted on 19th July 2007, with Mr Hwong Seng, the 2004 – 2005 president of the SMJK Council.

Part 1 – On the SMJK Web Portal Version 1
This session touched on how the Web Portal project was initiated, on the plan to initiate a SMJK community concept, for all the schools to share their learning resources, and the various stages in selecting the final solutions, as well as the funding sources for the project.

Part 2 – On the School Management Systems Project Fund Lobbying
Mr Hwong then told us how the council had use a pilot implementtion for the SMS in a few schools, and how they had lobbied for the funding from Huaren Foundations, and the various obstacles faced in the early implementations in his school, how he overcome each of them and how he had driven the project in his school.
Mr Tee Pak Leong, President 2005 – 2006
Mr Tee Pak Leong, the 2005 – 2006 president of the SMJK Council, touches on how the School Management Systems were lobbied, and how they were implemented for the SMJK schools.

Mr Phang Yoon Meng, President 2006 – 2007
Mr Phang Yoon Meng, the 2006 – 2007 president of the SMJK Council, stressed on the importance of the various education systems implemented throughout the years, and how they helped the schools in improving the administrative and collaborations of communities.

Mr Tong Ting Ming, the ICT Consultant traced back the various ICT projects with the funders, Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, Tun Ling Liong Sik and Huaren Education Foundation.
